The youth is the future of the nation

Every year in November, the Philippines observes National Children's Month. This month-long celebration aims to provide Filipino children with a safe environment, a good education, and access to healthcare. Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, once stated that the youth is the future of the nation, and that investing in children is critical to the betterment of the next generation. This holiday is also motivated by empathy. As a third-world country, most families struggle financially, and children bear the brunt of the burden. This month focuses on how we can assist and support them.

Before the Philippines started marking National Children's Month, many nations around the world had already started celebrating "Children's Day." When Reverend Dr. Charles Leonard led a special service for the kids in June 1857, it all got started. He first referred to it as "Rose Day," followed by "Flower Sunday," and then "Children's Day." I support this celebration as a student since it attempts to make students more conscious of their surroundings. Every student desires a decent education, and it helps students become more conscious. It improves the environment and fosters student solidarity. It draws attention to the manner in which we help each child.

The goal of National Children's Month is to provide assistance to children who have been victims of abuse, poverty, natural disasters, or violence. In fact, there was an alarmingly high rate of sexual abuse and exploitation among children in 2013.
