It Feels Like It's An Escape From Reality

The first day of school was really nerve-wracking, since almost all of my close friends are in the other section. I recall how I used to walk through the school corridors. It gives me nostalgic feelings since two years have passed without us going to school because of the pandemic. I became busier but still managed to have fun and enjoy my time at school. My interests evolved over time. I made friends and learned a lot from them.

As our classes began, I began to learn a lot more than I had with modular learning. I had a lot of challenges as the first quarter of the year progressed. I have a hard time concentrating during our lectures. I also started delaying things. It started to develop into a pastime, and now it's difficult to stop. In addition, I put a lot of pressure on myself to perform well in school, yet at the end of the day, I felt really disappointed in myself for failing. I find it hard for me to cope with my academic emotions since I started everything well.

As the first quarter ends, I can say that I really learned a lot. Despite all those draining days, I had fun. School isn't really that stressful for me; the assignments and activities are. I always feel at home when I'm at school. With my classmates and teachers, I feel quite secure and happy. Those chuckles, jokes, smiles, clumsiness, and trips made me feel strangely better. I'm content despite the fact that I don't have that many friends at school. But somehow It feels like an escape from reality.
