The long wait is over! ISNHS celebrates its 121st annual school
day on March 25 with the theme "Renewed Community in Defying Odds
Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity." This day is a significant
event for the school as it commemorates its rich history and accomplishments.
The day is celebrated with various activities, including cultural events,
booths, field demos, and traditional games.
The celebration starts with a Thanksgiving
mass that was held at the ISNHS Centennial Gymnasium and attended by our
teachers, staff personnel, and various clubs' and organizations' officers.
followed by the second part of the program with the welcome address of Mrs.
Editha C. Bagcal, Principal IV, the message of the school's division
superintendent, Maam Gemma Q. Tacuycuy, the intermission number of 10-Maxwell,
and the inspirational talk of Atty. Lovely Anne Joy Lazo, outstanding alumna,
class of 2010, the awarding of outstanding teachers, employees, and retirees,
the intermission number of the teacher's choir, and the words of gratitude of
the Asst. Principal II, SHS, Mr. Rommel R. Rabo After the Thanksgiving mass,
the second part of the program started at exactly 10:30 a.m. and was also held
at the ISNHS Centennial Gymnasium.
In the afternoon, the celebration ends
with a cultural program showcasing the talents of the students in dancing
calisthenics, festival dances, and hip-hop dances. The program is open to the
public and is attended by parents, alumni, and other guests. The traditional
games were played by teachers and served as an opportunity for teachers to
showcase their intellectual abilities and compete with their peers. Teachers
who excel in these games are recognized and awarded.
Overall, the Ilocos Sur National High
School Day is a significant event for the school community. It not only
celebrates the school's founding but also promotes academic excellence,
cultural awareness, and sportsmanship among the students and teachers. The day
serves as a reminder of the school's commitment to providing quality education
and molding responsible citizens.
